Kidney centre was established in Kalpataru Nursing Home in the year 2010 with Ten dialysis machines initially. Gradually over the years it has expanded to 20 bed units at present and 10 dialysis machines in medical NICU & surgical NICU.

We are going to expand the unit in a new building with 10 beds and also will have facilities for doing dialysis in all NICU beds.

Technology and Services

  • Six Artificial Dialysis Unit (installed in the department) (7 am to 10 pm).
  • Four Artificial Dialysis Unit (installed in the ICU).
  • Emergency dialysis in ICU(24/7 365 days per year).
  • Dialysis in ICU for critically ill patients including.
    • Slow Low Efficiency Dialysis in medical unstable patients and patients with recent surgery where kidney has failed temporarily.
    • Plasma Exchange (previously called Plasmapheresis) in patients with acute kidney failure.
  • Dialysis for selected patients with severe neuropathy and Myasthenia Gravis.
  • Separate dialysis machine for patients suffering from Hepatitis B and C.
  • Kidney transplant programme (live donor)
  • Active cadaveric transplant programme
